David Hockney

David Hockney was born on the 9th of july  and went to the Bradford Grammar School then the Bradford Collage of art then the Royal Collage of art in london. Aswell as art David Hockney also worked with photography. The photomontages he was famous for were mostly created mostly in the time of 1970 and 1986 as he did these pieces of work he referred to them as joiners. The way he did this style of art was that he got polaroid photographs  of one image and arrange them in a grid layout the subject would actually move while being photographed so that one piece would show the movements of the subject seen from the photographers perspective

After first looking at him we went out to take our own Hockney photos I decided an idea was to have me sitting on a bench and get that done.
After getting that taken I went back into the class and opened up photoshop to add them together.
It was after that I realised that that I havent really done it correctly but I kinda liked it.
Also to make the efect better i added the effect called plastic wrap.

Robert Freeman

Robert Freeman is a photographer who is most famous for his album cover photos for The Beatles.
He was the Beatles' most favoured photographer during the years 1963 to 1966 and shot arguably the most iconic images of them. He photographed and designed the covers for five consecutive album covers of the Beatles.
Freeman first came to the business as a photo journalist working for the British newspaper The Sunday Times for which he photographed a variety of subjects including Nikita Khrushchev in the Kremlin. He had also become noted for his black-and-white photographs of  jazz musicians including John Coltrane. It was these photographs that impressed the Beatles' manager Brian Epstein and the Beatles themselves and led to his first photoshoot with the group in August 1963.  He was also selected to photograph the entirety of the first ever Pirelli Calendar  shot in 1963 for the year 1964. He graduted from cambridge in 1959

Thursday 2 February 2012

Last lesson we were doing  photography which needed us to get multiple pictures of our heads bodies and feet which we will put in order to create something like this.
So in the afternoon our group went in the studio and took it in turns to take pictures of our faces bodies and feet. I partnered up with Roger and we had a go taking pictures we needed.
So I first took pictures of Roger with the cannon 5 D camera where he did a few poses he came up with some and also I directed him on what I wanted him to do and pull. I think that we got some good  photos   of our heads body and legs since we did different poses for each shot. after the shots were taken we uploaded them all onto lightroom and added effects to them. The effect I mostly used was an effect which made the picture become  black and white I decided to ajust the tone and saturation levels to create the desired effect I wanted on the image .

so as you can see in the images some have higher levels of saturation than the other. with the images of roger we added an effect which was supposed to  make the picture look oldish.

Tritych photography is a type of photography which consists of 3 images in a  they present two or three images which can be from the same session or they can be polar opposites to show opposition or contrasting ideas.

They All started to publish his photos just as the punk scene happened he started to shoot group such as the Sex pistols , The Jam and Blondie. But Ross Rather would like to take photos of  Bands that do light shows.

One day someone called Geoff Barton had the idea to start a magazine called Kerrang! He came upto Ross asking what colour pictures he had taken recently
he had pictures of the band AC/DC  which became the first cover for the magazine and because of him shooting covers for Geoff he became a rock band photographer.

This photo of Alex Turner
Is a cool photo There isn't really any effects on this shot but the lighting is pretty nice and the whole thing just  works.

The  picture of Eminem  is a pretty good photo the  black and white effect works  well it makes him stand out   since his clothes are white also the lights are shining at the top which gives it a really good effect that he is on the stage.

The Picture of kiss is the picture I favour most out of all of Ross Halfins pictures the whole thing is just amazing the combination of lights and confetti and the hands of the crowd creates a fantastic image

The picture of Bob Marley is a picture of him playing live.
Its a good shot which has been further edited with a black and white effect with tone and saturation levels tweaked giving it an effective look. I believe that the light levels on this picture wouldnt work in other pictures but it does with this picture it makes eveything stand out more.

The picture of the guitarist slash is picture that has had some colour levels mildly tweaked but I personally think that this effect work pretty well making the clothes and skin of slash sort of blend in together

The picture of Jimmy Page and steven tyler is a picture which hasnt really got any effects added onto it but what Ross done for this is that he captured the best moment he could for the picture
